After a BA at the National Academy of Dramatic Art “Silvio D’Amico” he started, in the late ’90s, to work with various directors in theatre shows and TV serials: Luca Ronconi, Massimiliano Civica, Gigi Dall’Aglio, Franco Brambilla, Mario Ferrero, Ludwik Flaszen, Jerzy Stuhr in theatre; Vittorio Gassman, Cinzia TH Torrini, Ruggero Deodato, Tomaso Sherman, Alessandro Cane, Leandro Castellani, Carlo Alberto Pinelli, Roberto Leoni on TV.
In 2004, after completing the VIII edition of the RAI/Script Master in Screenwriting, he became also active as an author and director by staging “Pia Opera”, his first work as a writer/performer (2005). In 2006 he joined the collective writing project led by José Sanchis Sinisterra for Metastasio Theatre – Teatro Stabile di Prato; during the same year his play “Nuda Proprietà” was directed by Massimiliano Civica, for the festival “Garofano Verde”. “Assunta Pertuso (e le splendide illusioni dell’amore)”, finalist at the Premio Scenario Award in 2007, premiered in 2008 in the frame of the festival “Non-Scuola Romana”, curated by the theatre critic Nico Garrone. For 2008 he was also granted Artist-in-Residence Fellowship from Pro Helvetia, for a playwriting project in Romania. In 2009, in the frame of the programme “Oggi verso Domani”, led by Teatro di Roma and coproduced by Festival InEquilibrio, he wrote and staged the play “Mélò”, which was later published by “Editoria & Spettacolo”. Together with the theatre ensemble of “The Merchant of Venice”, directed by Massimiliano Civica, he was awarded in 2009 with the “Premio Vittorio Mezzogiorno” at the Giffoni International Film Festival. After playing in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, coproduced by Teatro Stabile dell’Umbria and Romaeuropa Festival, he ended his long collaboration with the theatre director Massimiliano Civica. In 2012 his project “Sacri Resti” got honorable mention and the audience prize at the Performing Arts Award “Dante Cappelletti”. Between 2014 and 2015 he worked at his solo “MILK”, co-produced by Carrozzerie NOT, for which he got a second honorable mention at Performing Arts Award “Dante Cappelletti”.
In 2013 he started to work internationally, thanks to collaborations with the choreographer/performer Ivo Dimchev (BG/BE) for the performance “FEST”, the performance artist Joan Morey (ES), and the director/performer Martin Schick (CH), for “Holiday on Stage”.
Since 2006 he’s also giving lectures, workshops and classes in many theatre courses and for institutions such as CUT – Centro Universitario Teatrale in Perugia; CISI “Center for Integration and Intercultural Studies”, for the project CISI.amo; Fondazione Pontedera Teatro; ETI – Ente Teatrale Italiano.
